What an awesome experience, meet by host at the car garage and escorted to our unique grotto accommodation with a commentary on the fascinating history of Matera.Stunning grotto stylishly decorated to the highest spec.Spotlessly clean , logo on the bed linen and towels just an indication of the attention to detail. We were permitted to leave our luggage the following morning after check out while we did a walking tour

This was the most amazing property and an experience we won't ever forget. Emmanuel was a wonderful host and shared his knowledge with us upon arrival including recommendation about places to see and redturants to eat at. We loved everything about our stay at Grotta Barisano.

Traveling is as valuable as the experiences lived. Staying in this accommodation is certainly one of them. It is an authentic place, tastefully and thoughtfully equipped to the latest standards. Everything in the photos works even better in reality . The accommodation is not a backdrop but a real living rock, so (as with everything) engaging your mind and adjusting your expectations is always welcome. :)
