The accommodation is just amazing, beautifully clean but warm and cozy. The hosts Paola & Francesco are so friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was fantastic with great coffee! I would highly recommend Aque cave and look forward to returning 😊

Everything! The location was great, right in the Sassi area, close to very good restaurants and bar. The structure was incredible, our room was a kind of “cave”, very spacious and cozy with a big bathroom. There were a lot of amenities and nice details (such as candles and traditional sweets). The staff was extremely kind and welcoming, they provided lots of useful information about Matera and suggestions for meals and drinks. Breakfast was really tasty, for me one of the best breakfasts I have ever had with a lot of delicious vegan and lactose free options (I told them that I was allergic to lactose one day before our arrival). I really recommend this place!!!

We had the most amazing stay in Aque Cave as the final stop on our honeymoon travelling around Puglia. We definitely saved the best until last and we were blown away by this place from the greeting from Paola taking us through all her recommendations of things to do and places to eat to the amazing cave we were staying in with freestanding bath. It was perfectly located and we just had the BEST time.

We loved everything! Such a special gem in matera! We are a family of 5 (3 kids from 6to 11 years). We booked a superior suite. we could stay all in the room what was very convenient. usually we need 2 rooms. The owner Giovanna was super friendly and gave us a lot of recommendations. The style of the room is just wow. We loved the room because of the typically matera cave style. it was super super hot in july, we didn't use the AC in the room, because the stone have a natural cool. so nice! they offered the most delicious breakfast!! with a lot of local delightfulness. really top! remember, you need to leave your car outside of the old town. so book a parking place in advance. parking places have shuttle services. the drove us right at the aque cave. was perfect, because of the heat and we didn't want to carry every thing.

Wonderfully clean and well appointed large room with tasteful modern decor without losing the ‘cave’ feel. Francesco and Paola were amazing hosts. Breakfast was very good.
