Location, Staff, Views, Wildlife Location - in beautiful, friendly Manuel Antonio village, on a steep slope but plenty buses if you don't want to walk all the time Staff - Simon and his team are simply the best - nice people and so helpful and attentive with can do attitude Views - amazing views from balcony of ocean, island and jungle Wildlife - from balcony and room saw lots of agouti, monkeys, some humming birds and the highlight - a sloth passing through

We liked the location, not far from the beach and not far from Manuel Antonio park. We had very nice breakfast at the near Anaconda Cafe. Mind there are frequent visitors - monkeys - on your terrace so not a good idea to leave any food available there, or any small items they can take. I recommend the place. We stayed as a family of 2 adults and 2 children 4 and 8 years old. The pools are great, have spaghetti floats there available and jacuzzi, too.

Fabulous view out over the Pacific. Nice balconies and decent size pool. Saimon was very friendly and helpful. The marrauding monkeys were very entertaining though you had to to an eye on any food.

View was breathtaking! Room was well appointed, had everything we needed to cook for ourselves. Hotel staff arranged many fun activities for us and were great with communication. Lots of wildlife to see, we brought binoculars and saw many macaw and a toucan while birdwatching from the balcony. Public beach access is a few minutes walk down the hill (you dont have to go to the main town/park area)

I loved our stay at Villas de la Selva. We watched the sunset over the ocean every evening from our room, had daily visits from capuchin monkeys, saw squirrel monkeys, sloths, scarlet macaws, agouti and deer and swam daily in the wonderful pool with an ocean view. Saimon and William were so helpful and kind. They made the stay feel like staying with friends.

Location was the perfect position half way up the hill - steep climbs but overall walkable to other parts of Manuel Antonio. Also incredible views, quiet & an abundance of wildlife to spot from the hammock!

The location for sunset was amazing and a great place to spend time on holiday. Staff amazing especially Simon and William. Helped us with trips out and transport to next destination (even called us a taxi at 3am and waited with us til it arrived)

With a spectacular view of the Pacific and a lovely pool, Villas de la Selva is an absolute gem at Manuel Antonio. There are plusher more expensive hotels along this stretch of road between Quepos and the National Park, but to get the view you need to be on the coast side of the road and Villas de la Selva is in just the right place at a cost-effective price. There are maybe fourteen rooms each looking out to the sea, some with balcony areas with hammocks and seating. The rooms are functional and comfortable, and ours had a fridge and small kitchen (fridge, 2 ring stove) on the balcony area. Some of the facilities could do with updating or a bit of TLC, but that's reflected in the competitive room price. There's a great bakery (next to Avion restaurant, pineapple brioche!) 10 minutes up the road, and we enjoyed breakfast from our balcony watching the ocean and the hummingbirds zipping around in the lush gardens. We had a warm welcome from host Ricardo who gave us some useful tips on local facilities and was hugely helpful with an issue with our vehicle. Manuel Antonio National Park is a quick drive away (book in advance as daily numbers are limited; food not permitted; and avoid the aggressive unofficial car park teams on the approach road or you may end up parking a mile or more from the Park). We also drove an hour down the coast to Uvita for a great whale watching trip with Bahia Aventuras. A short steep walk up the hill from Villas de la Selva brings you to some quality restaurants (Wagon for pizza, Cantina, Anaconda, El Avion) all of which seem to be under the same ownership. Supermarkets are a short drive away. A short steep walk down the hill brings you to a path to the lovely and popular beach and the crashing waves (be careful of riptides). Capuchin monkeys visited daily, playing on the sun loungers, and we could hear howler monkeys from our room at night. Lots of birds in the garden, plus agoutis. And did we mention the view...?

Simone is amazing! He is very helpful and goes above and beyond to offer exceptional customer service. He gave us great recommendations as well. The view from the room is amazing, and monkeys came to visit, which my children enjoyed so much.
