This is a true gem! We arrived early but texted the owner who got there after a few minutes. The welcome was very warm with lots of information about the history of the house, things to do and places to go in the surrounding areas etc. There were also welcome drinks and snacks that were served on the beautiful terrace with a great view of the forests and the town below. The whole house was lovingly decorated, the rooms were very well laid out and the beds super comfortable. The bathrooms were small but very clean and the shower was lovely. One of the best things was the breakfast that we could choose from a menu and was prepared for us freshly every morning by the host's parents (it's a true family business). We could eat it at a time of our choice and enjoyed the fresh air and the view from the terrace while eating. Communication was pleasant and we got by with a mix of English (the host) and French (the parents). We had a wonderful stay (unfortunately, two days only) and would really love to come back one day!

Great location outside the town of Manteigas with lovely views of the nearby hills and forests. Lots of peace and quiet. We were hosted by the exceptional Ilda and Alberto - very friendly and extremely helpful. They welcomed us with beer, which was very welcome due to the high temperatures. They showed us the house and the room and all the amenities available to us (a large garden, deck chairs and hammocks and a beautifully decorated living room with a dining area for all guests). Alberto provided us with a map of attractions in the area and indicated which places he thought were worth a visit. We also got recommendations for restaurants in Manteigas and nearby towns. Pedro (son) was in touch with us all the time and also sent us a list of recommended places in the area. The room was very spacious and comfortable - beautifully finished. Daily cleaning and replacement of towels. We had those included in the price served a delicious breakfast prepared on site by Ilda. All three showed great concern for our onward journey, as we were traveling near fire areas. We were given clear instructions on what roads were currently closed and where to check what information on a regular basis - it was very caring and nice!

Lovely location in forest surrounded by hills. Wonderful welcome by the sweetest grandma and grandpa couple you will find anywhere in the world. Cosy family room perfect for 2+2 Great breakfast outside with views all around (and no wasps!) Nice walks and river swimming nearby. Manteigas 10min drive away

A really great place away from the village, quiet and beautifully situated. A pretty little house, mega large and beautiful garden, cute rooms (very family-friendly) and also a large common room with everything your heart desires. The hosts were super friendly, helpful and always had a good tip ready when it came to hiking, eating out or anything else. The communication was great anyway. The breakfast on request was great and the hosts also fully catered to our needs in terms of time ... Thank you very much for the great days with you - always happy to return!!!

Stunning house in an amazing location. We were well looked after with a great continental breakfast. The house is spotless throughout, short taxi ride into nearest town where there are plenty of good places to eat. Plenty of parking for our 5 motorbikes All in all a perfect stay! Would definately return. Highly recommended!
