Having made a reservation only a few days before, we stayed in the private apartment across the street. It was clean, spacious, and equipped with all the comforts, from the kettle to the toilet paper. The owners were very helpful from from useful information on where to eat to booking taxis, and for example they all owed us to stay in the apartment until 10 PM for a small extra charge, as we had an evening buse... a truly homely and welcoming environment. They assisted us throughout our stay. Breakfast was 200 rupees per person, available in both continental (bread, butter, jam) and South Indian styles.

Great value dorm room with AC & newly built shower & bathroom x2. Staff very accommodating to help with organising excursions as well as onward travel - inclusive of booking tuk tuks for me at 6:15am in the morning, something that was above and beyond in my book!

Relaxing homestay, the owner is very helpful, she can also help you booking transports in case you need it. You can enjoy homemade local food for a reasonable price as well. The room is clean and spacious and the neighborhood is gorgeous. Highly recommended!

Criston Homestay was perfect and we really enjoyed our time there. The hosts create a lovely atmosphere. The room was nice, the bathroom too was very good. In front of the room there is a nice terrace from where you can see the nearby lake and peaceful and quiet neighbourhood. The breakfast is excellent, either Indian or Continental. What was really unbelievable is the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners! I had lost my phone in an auto rikshaw and they gave everything to help me to get it back (which really worked). They even drove from Madurai to Thanjavur, where we had moved to. So thank you 1000 times for all your help to the whole family. This was really a homestay. This homestay lives up to the word!

Such a lovely family who runs this place! They just opened a completely new room with 4 bunk beds and I had the honor to be one of the first guests. It's a really nice room with a light and socket next to every bed, cabinets, fans, perfect bathroom, everything you wish for.
