The fine print
When booking more than 5 rooms, different policies and additional supplements may apply.Belmond Sanctuary Lodge is only accessible by a public bus service departing from Aguas Calientes Train Station in Machu Picchu. Round-trip bus tickets must be purchased from the Consettur booth at the station. Buses depart every 20 minutes between 5:30–15:30. There are no taxis from Aguas Calientes to the Machu Picchu Citadel.Based on local tax laws, Peruvian citizens (and foreigners staying more than 59 days in Peru) must pay an additional fee of 18%. To be exempt from this 18% additional fee (IVA), a copy of the immigration card and passport must be presented. Please note both documents are required for fee exemption. Guests who are not able to present both documents will be required to pay the fee. The tax is applied per room when the room is shared by a taxable and a nontaxable guest.
Foreign business travelers who require a printed invoice, will also be charged the additional 18% regardless of the length of their stay in Peru. This fee is not automatically calculated in the total costs for the reservation.In accordance with the new provisions in force as of April 17, 2021 (DS No. 005-2021-MINCETUR)For the entry of minors accompanied by one or both parents, it is mandatory to carry the passport or identity card of the minor. It is also a requirement to present at the hotel, the birth certificate as well as passport or identity card of the accompanying parent, as appropriate.According to Peruvian law (Law No. 28194), cash is not accepted for payments from PEN 2000 or USD 500. These currencies must be settled by credit card or other methods approved by the hotel and Peruvian Law. Payments cannot be split between currencies.Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.

Wow. Just an epic experience. The most incredible and dedicated team work at this hotel. Exceeded my expectations. Can not recommend a property more. The location next to the entrance is brilliant. Food is outstanding. Thank you everyone at Sanctuary Lodge for an unforgettable experience.

The hotel will arrange luggage take-up at the train station so I can join the Machu picchu tour directly without wasting time for logistics. And when some of our luggages were not transported by the train company from Cusco to Machu picchu, the staff Jhon gave us a big hand and solved the issue smoothly. I do appreciate the whole team of the hotel and specifically thank you Jhon for his service.
