Staying in Lyudmila's apartment in Lutsk was a rollercoaster ride with a mostly happy ending. The apartment itself was clean, cozy, and perfectly located halfway between the train station and the city center, making it convenient for exploring the key spots. Olga, the host, is an absolute gem—kind, professional, and quick to resolve issues. However, my journey to this lovely stay came with a plot twist. Two hours before my arrival, I received a call from a certain Yulia, who claimed to be assisting Olga. Yulia informed me that the apartment I booked was unavailable and proposed an alternative. Initially, it seemed fine—I was sent photos via Telegram, picked a better option, and thought the matter was settled. But here's where the comedy of errors began. Apparently, I made a small mistake on the website by not mentioning the age of my child. Yulia saw this as an opportunity to flex her negotiation skills and demanded an extra 100 UAH. Her energy and relentless texting left me bewildered, but the real kicker was her bold suggestion to cancel my booking on Booking.com to "simplify" the process. I politely declined, and that's when things escalated. After we had already checked in, Yulia dramatically threatened to change the apartment locks if I didn’t comply. The situation was defused only after I managed to contact Lyudmila directly through her number on Booking.com. Lyudmila promptly handled everything, and the rest of my stay was delightful and stress-free.
