The staff were really friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. The outside is beautiful, and the hallways attractively decorated. The room was nicer than you'd get at a chain hotel, with the added character of being themed which was done tastefully and not over the top. It was very warm so I was grateful for the thermostat to adjust this, and the air-con came in handy despite it being January.

The Hotel was incredibly clean throughout (unlike most similar rated Hotels in the UK). The hotel just has a very nice feel about it and you could almost feel you are actually not in London. The staff is friendly, helpful and responsive.

This was my second stay at this hotel and the things that I really love are the lovely individualistic decor and the interesting history. This time we also tried the Hamman, which was lovely and very welcome on a cold winter day, and the breakfast which was fantastic. Overall, we had a great stay.

Charming, characterful hotel that will delight any book lover. Lots of thought has gone into the room themes, even including the Hotel TV providing a mini doc on your author. Staff are lovely; breakfast delicious. Truly feel I've discovered one of East London's best kept secrets. Will be back.

Quirky decor, main areas of the hotel feels like being in your favourite Aunt's house and the rooms are one offs themed on authors. Staff are lovely and the breakfast is great
