Location View from apartment Hostess -Esmeralda- who managed the property was incredible! She went out of her way to make the stay as comfortable for us as possible. I requested to order a cake for my dads birthday and she went above and beyond to sort that out. Property gorgeous! Huge two rooms and super clean. Views to the lake are stunning. Short walk to centre and station! Best stay we had in Swiss was here

Esmeralda is incredibly welcoming and makes elegantly easy for guests. We had a wonderful time in this property. The view and location are second to none, waking up to a huge panoramic view of Lago Maggiore at the generous veranda. Everything is modern, very spacious, fully equipped and you will not miss anything for a pretty perfect stay in Locarno. Since it’s so central, it is easy to commute elsewhere (5min drive to Ascona, 25min drive to the alpine valleys and villages..) and there is plenty of options for local entertainment, food and attractions. If you feel like chilling in the flat for a bit, the huge TV set with all the apps and channels - and that veranda <3 - won’t make it hard either. I have seen in some reviews what may get lost in translation to most guests: the apartment has an ensuite with a BATH and a secondary bathroom with a shower. Highlighting that the shower head of the bath doesn’t work as a standing shower seems a bit unfair. Perhaps a little note card explaining this would help. We had no trouble using either; both great! Supermarket (Aldi), shops, Piazza Grande and the Castelo Visconteo are but a few walking steps from the apartment. The Madonna Del Sasso Monastery is either a short 6min drive up or a couple of mins walk to the funicular. If you have a car, drive up. It’s faster and cheaper with a free 3h parking right outside the monastery. Private parking, perfectly simple and clear instructions, accommodating and the easiest of check-in and check-out arrangements. Overall it is hard to fault this place. On top of which, you get the warmth and elegant practicality of Esmeralda. It isn’t the most affordable of all places, but you 100% get what you invest in. I’d most easily come back.
