I took a small dog along with me, told them when making the booking but extra money added on at check in for the dog when the room had already been paid, should have been made aware of this at booking

the have stayed at the marine a few times now and we love the place , however my only gripe is that when we booked it in jan i messaged the staff to let them know we would be fetching our dog for 2 nights and we will pay extra for the breakfasts for 2 days and were told we can pay the extras on arrival. however when we arrived we were informed that the £20.00 for our dog is now £50.00 , we wasnt informed about the price increase and when the marine made the decision to up the price , my wife and i spoke to a few people who were not happy about the price increase and some dog owners were honoured by the hotel to pay the original £10.00 per night per dog , as much as we love the marine i think we will be looking for alternative hotels or guest houses when we book next time . i know some people may think £25.00 a night is a fair price but £25.00 a night in my opinion is quite steep , in all the times of coming to the marine we have always left good reviews if we thought the hotel was bad we wouldnt keep coming back. i hope the increase in price for dogs doesnt have an effect on bookings from other dog owners

The location is lovely with a lovely view from the front of hotel and good walking distance to town and the promenade, parking was a bit of a pain but managed to get one on the main road outside the hotel which was lucky.

Needed updating, also not a very welcoming front entrance needed updating as this forms your first opinion of something.

Lovely hotel and staff like a lot of the hotels going through refurbishment.so interior little run down.but cannot fault it.will definitely be staying again.nicely situated for town and pier and the theatre.on the sea front.even had a pool but didn't get to use it.
