This is a beautiful property within walking distance (or a couple of subway stops) from the centre of the old city. The staff were always very helpful, food offerings were excellent including breakfast and the on-site restaurant. And the coffee shop in the lobby was always handy.

The Locke de Santa Joana is a former 17th-century convent renovated into a hotel with a unique blend of historic and contemporary elements. Great location, grocery stores are within walking distance, friendly staff always willing to help (respond via WhatsApp quickly 24x7), nice restaurants on the property, the room is pretty compact, compared to what we are used to in North America, with full kitchen and washer/dryer (dishwasher and laundry detergents are supplied). We also liked that every room has its unique wifi signal and password.

The staff were really helpful with directions to where we wanted to go. The breakfast was expensive but worth every penny. The range of options was vast and everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. The decor was outstanding and the building, set in an old convent was sympathetic to the original layout and beautifully refurbished.

Hotel was in a great place, it was really easy to commute to different places. Grocerystores and some restaurants were close as well. Staff was super nice, we got a little surprise for our honeymoon and also birthday which was during our stay. Room was comfortable and had everything we needed!

Very cool and stylish design hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, kitchen is fully equipped, and the bathroom is quite big, very modern and a the shower is a story of itself - a true enjoyment!! The cleaning staff is nice and helpful, although a bit struggle sometimes to explain anything in English. The restaurant is really nice, both the staff and the food. I’m definitely coming back again!
