Hotel Overview

Set around an inner courtyard of an 18th-century mansion, this eco-hotel is located within the walls of St. Jorge's Castle. It features rooms with free Wi-Fi in the historic Alfama neighbourhood.
All double-glazed rooms at the Castelo feature wood floors and a contemporary classic décor. They all come with satellite flat-screen TV and a DVD player. The bathroom has a bathtub and robes.

We went to Solar de Castelo to celebrate my 40th birthday. We used the free airport transfer which was great, as the hotel was located a steep walk up the hill. We were warmly welcomed, and the room was very comfortable. We enjoyed the ample, healthy breakfast, and the port in the room. The lounge was lovely and comfortable, and despite the cooler temperatures, we ate breakfast in the courtyard with the peacocks. Really comfortable bed, very clean, and just a really lovely, unique environment.

This is a gorgeous hotel next to the castle. The breakfast room/loungeroom and outdoor areas are beautiful. Loved watching the many peacocks wandering around. The breakfast was adequate and available all morning so you can have a good sleep in 😴 The evening drinks, bubbly supplied by the hotel, are a great idea. Definitely go to this! We met lots of lovely people and exchanged contact details. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in the neighbourhood. Lisbon isn't easy to walk with the hills so make sure you find where the elevators are and use them... brilliant idea. Great hotel and love the city!

The staff was very nice, location was great, the hotel was clean, beds were comfortable, the transfer from the airport was convenient, the snacks and drinks are a very nice gesture and make you feel welcome.
