JOAO-MANUEL “Friendly family hotel at the center of town”

Location could not be better, at the center of the town and a short walk away from the Cathedral, with a number of restaurants nearby. Also although they don't have a garage you could park the car at the door for free on Sundays (and that was when we lodged there) but on weekdays you have to pay a small fee (60 cents) per hour with a maximum stay of three hours and then it is again free over lunch. Our room had a bathtub, albeit a small one. I like to take a bath and so this is definitely a plus with me. Also old me liked to see that the door to the room had a physical key. Breakfast OK but not at 4-star level as we often find in some 3-star hotels. All personnel very kind and agreeable.

The staff were fantastic, even showing me where I could park my motorcycle more safely. When language proved a barrier the owners mother in law went out of her way to phone someone so I could chat in English. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was basic but plentiful. I couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you.

The staff are very friendly. They clean the rooms every day, if you want. Breakfast is worthy of a 5 star hotel Amazing place for those who want to be in contact with the nature and traditional culture of the country Dona Carlota, she is a lovely lady, and the guy was very helpful.
