Everything about the hotel was impeccable from design/decor, staff hospitality and the rooms far exceeded our already high expectations from the photos we saw on Booking.com. This is truly a wonderful hotel that we will look to return on future trips to Kyoto. Additionally, it was mega convenient being right at the Kyoto central train station.

The Thousand is a beautiful hotel. The room was well sized with a huge, very comfortable bed. We had the Western breakfasts which were more than adequate. The position was outstanding, right next to Kyoto station, and helpful utilising the amenities there, as when we needed a quick meal. But where the Thousand excels are the staff- warm, welcoming and incredibly helpful. Will stay again if return to Kyoto

The hotel is very conveniently located right next to the train station and very quiet. We had a slightly bigger room, which came in handy as we were staying for a week and carrying a lot of luggage. The staff are extremely friendly, but tend to be that delightful Japanese complicatedness. We always chose the Japanese breakfast, which is in a separate restaurant on the second floor. A lovely hotel, perfect location by the train station. This was our third visit and I would stay here again and again.

Amazing building with impressive modern architecture. The bedroom was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful, the night manager allowed me to use the concierge desk for business calls due to a lack of a business centre, and the cleaning team learned our habits within a couple of days, which was very impressive. All in all the staff of the hotel were simply incredible, and the building and room match.
