Staff was extremely polite and helpful. Service and cleanliness was 10/10. The tea room was my favourite and super delicious. The architecture of the hotel and interior is very nice, Japanese minimalistic. I could relax a lot.

Overall Breakfast was good. A good variety of western and Japanese food. Quality of bread can be improved. We had one dinner at the hotel, food was excellent and service was very good The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly

The view from our room was BEAUTIFUL! it looked into the street with the local houses and the lovely trees. the room was clean with useful amenities! the breakfast was simple and flavourful. Good options for vegetarians as well! the ambience was calm and easy. The staff was very helpful with shipping out baggage and other gifts to the various parts of japan! The airport shuttle was also useful!

What a national treasure! The hotel is perfectly located. It’s in such a beautiful and peaceful neighbourhood in the foothills of the mountains and a stroll away from the wondrous sights of Kyoto. The design and decor is exquisite. The staff are so kind and friendly. The private spa is such a treat and we slept so deep. The perfect stay to make Kyoto a breeze.

The position was great near some lovely shrines and an easy walk into Gion. Staff were lovely and helpful.
