You must inform the hotel in advance what time you plan to check in. If your check-in time changes, please update the hotel.A deposit via PayPal is required to secure guest reservations. The property will contact the guests after booking on instructions about payment. Guests must make the payment via PayPal within the instructed date.Take a JR bus from Karasuma Chuo Exit of JR Kyoto Station, and get off at Yamashiro Takao Bus Stop. Please call the hotel before getting on the bus, and the hotel staff will wait at the bus stop to escort you to the property.Dinner is served in a "Kawadoko" open-air dining area from June to September.Please note, dining options are not available within a walking distance from the property. Guests must place their menu orders by 18:30 to eat dinner on site.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.
An accommodation tax per person per night is not included in the price and needs to be paid at the property.

Wonderful staff, nice japanese traditional room with river views, beautiful environment, very good breakfast, nice dinner, although not cheap, free transfer from bus stop in Takao, and to Kyoto city. On top of that, they dropped us by car to the starting point of a trail for hiking

The staff were all fantastic. The owners were exceptionally helpful, going out of their way to offer us transport in the mornings. The breakfast was excellent . The area is stunningly beautiful and the Buddhist temples and surrounding forest are magical. The trees turning colour in November were breathtaking.

The hotel itself is very nice and adds to the whole ryokan experience, but I would say the staff was what I liked the most. The hospitality was incredibly welcoming and the service was a 10/10. For example, one time we missed the bus that takes you into town, and a staff member offered to take us to where we were going. They really go out of their way for you!

The location is pretty fantastic, and not too far from Kyoto - usually most of the good affordable Ryokans are only found far in the countryside, but this one takes less than an hour bus ride to get there. The view is great and dining next to the river is just perfect.

Despite not eating fish, the breakfast was delicious and they were very kind in providing accommodations for us. They were extremely kind and helpful. Our room and the area were both gorgeous. They offered rides to and from the station nearby, which was incredibly helpful with our luggage. The public baths were amazing after walking around in the heat all day. The nearby shrine was a wonderful experience and the river was so lovely.

Excellent Ryokan in a beautiful river valley just northwest of Kyoto. Dinner by the river was magical and the room was comfortable and clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful, making a great experience.

This ryokan is situated in beautiful nature. We had a beautiful view of the river from our room and had dinner by the riverside on both nights. Rooms are big, cozy and very relaxing. The whole area is beautiful and we enjoyed exploring it. Food (breakfast and dinner) was amazing, best we had in Japan so far. All the staff was absolutely wonderful. They picked us up at the bus station and dropped us at the train, which made the whole trip much simpler. Everything was perfect and we are glad we included this place as a part of our honeymoon stay!

Super friendly atmosphere, the staff is amazing very helpful and kind. The location is outstanding, and the food is excellent authentic Japanese.
