Everything about this experience felt so welcoming and authentic. Our host was dressed in a kimono and provided a memorable tea ceremony. The breakfast was delicious! Absolutely recommend.

The tea ceremony was exceptional. They outdid themselves to make our stay the best we could have. The duvet was as if we were on a cloud, we slept like babies!

Satako was a beautiful hostess. Friendly, warm and looking after every need. The onsen bath was so relaxing and perfectly timed after a long day exploring. Bedroom was setup cosy and comfortable upon return from dinner. Breakfast was delicious and so grateful I got to take part in the Tea ceremony . They also took bags onto next Hôtel destination in Osaka for a small fee so I could explore the day without carrying bags or finding lockers at the train station. Thank you!

-Friendliness and warmness of the host -Good restaurants nearby -Cleanliness -Host allowed us to check-in earlier -Free tea ceremony and access to onsen on site -Breakfast was delicious -Comfortable futtons -Peaceful and calm place We absolutely loved our stay at Ryokan Tori!!! We wish we could have stayed longer. It was an amazing experience and we definitely recommend this place to everyone who looks for a ryokan!

I highly recommend this ryokan to anyone looking to experience the beauty, culture, and warmth of Japanese hospitality in Kyoto. The hospitality was impeccable. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was perfect. They were incredibly attentive, friendly, and always available to assist with any request, yet they managed to do so in a way that was unobtrusive. The traditional Japanese breakfast the next morning was equally impressive, with a variety of dishes that were both healthy and delicious.
