Centrally located, this ryokan was great for a traditional Japanese experience. The staff/owners were so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was interesting as well as the shared bathroom, but it does include an onsen bath which is nice to use at end of day. Only a short walk to the Nishki markets as well as shops and plenty of food options to eat out

I have visible tattoos and i was able to use the public hot baths. Other Ryokans don't allow tattooed customer access to public baths and i had to cancel a booking because of that. I was very happy this was not a issue here. The place is beautiful, like time traveling. And the staff was wonderfull, everyone was nice and helpfull. The breakfast was an experience in itself. Very cute neibothood and close to the Nishiki Market

The owners were very sweet, she even waited out the front with us for our taxi and waved us goodbye. This really hits the spot if you’re looking for a traditional Japanese lodging experience

Staying here was such an amazing authentic experience. The owners were so incredibly nice and helpfully, the room was beautiful and everything was very clean and taken care of. We also had the traditional breakfast included in our booking and we highly recommend this!!

Our host / owner of the ryokan, was very warm and friendly and we immediately felt comfortable. We enjoyed the traditional futons, the yukatas and a close encounter with the Japanese family. The dining experience was superb! It is very near Nishiki Market. My family is grateful for the lady host who rode her bicycle to grab a taxi for us for our airport transfer. We couldn't recommend this enough. Grateful.

My stay in Ryokan Sanga was really nice. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Booking, payment and any other communication went smoothly. You can also use a TaQbin from the accommodation to your next stay. It is a good area to stay at in kyoto, many things are in walking distance and you are close to any common bus line. The room itself was super pretty, and the futon comfortable. The onsen was really nice and you get a yukatta to use. The breakfast is extraordinary good if you like Japanese Breakfast, and I would recommend to book it. If you stay several days the breakfast will change slightly from day to day. I would definitely like to stay here again and would recommend the place to anyone that wants to stay in Kyoto!
