Sweet Wah Wah “Superb”

Excellent location and good price. Walking distance from the train station and bus station. The room and the entire hotel is clean and neatly organized. The owners are very friendly and helpful though they do not speak much English. They are doing the best to communicate. It is a Japanese style room setup with mattress for bed and no chair. A good experience to stay for a day or two but hard for seniors like us who are not used to sitting on the floor all the time.

The ryokan is very close to Kyoto station and has nice traditional rooms with futon. There is a curfew (like in most ryokan) but it leaves plenty of time to go out for dinner. They stored our luggage for the whole day and the ladies at the reception were very welcoming.

Very centrally placed, barely five minutes by foot from the central station yet in a quiet side street. Cafés, restaurants, convenience stores and vending machines are nearby, a luggage transportation service (in case one doesn't want to travel with their large suitcases to the next destination) is only a very short walk away as well. The Nihonkan team is incredibly kind and friendly. The building retained its old charm but is still modern enough and well-maintained to not leave guests missing anything. The room was more spacious than I expected. I enjoyed my stay greatly and will consider coming back if I visit Kyoto again

The location of the ryokan was ideal, being very close to the train station. The ryokan itself was a fantastic experience, offering a glimpse into traditional Japanese hospitality. The onsen (male & female seperated) was a welcome relief from the cold weather. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Overall, a wonderful stay!

Really nice place. Super close to the Kyoto station and the staff is adorable. They are all the time ready to give you the keys to your room or if you need something extra. Everyday you have a different cookie in your room after they clean your room

Very friendly staff and great location - less than 5 mins from Kyoto Station. Useful facilities - shared microwave and fridge and kettle in room. Felt like a traditional Japanese experience!

The location was perfect, close to the station. The room was a traditional Ryokan with a clean shared bathroom and toilets. The whole ryokan was extremely clean. The host was so kind and had everyday a sweet for us. At the end we received a small present. Coffee was free. Really recommend. Great experience.
