A good exposure to a Japanese style hotel with hot spring. Great amenities and freebies like supper, ice cream, hot drinks.

The idea to keep shoes at the lobby is a great idea, coz it means the hotel corridor is clean. Will stay again!

The amenities were great! definitely the highlight to this stay. I was able to use the private onsens daily, it was never a struggle and when you had to wait it was not long. Big + if you are looking for a place with private onsens! The other amenities of included drinks, ice-cream, sake, was a nice plus as well. The aesthetic of the hotel is great. Staff were friendly.

Amazing hotel in the Japanese traditional style, where you are supposed to walk bare foot all over the place. Lovely onsens, both private and public, are avaliable without reservation, you can wear traditional and cosy japanese-style bathrobes and try free of charge evening's soup and icecreams. The staff is always ready to help and polite. We felt a taste of Japan there, even if we were just to stay in the hotel and not to see the cultural heritage of Kyoto! Highly recommended place!

Overall it’s a nice ryokan with lots of free amenities + private and public onsens. Location is good too as it’s pretty central and close to main kyoto areas. Staff are pleasant and helpful!
