We had just 2 nights in Kyoto and stayed in this beautiful traditional homestay. Greeted with smiles, warmth and a tea ceremony. Great location, extremely quiet, warm and cosy. Staff helped us coordinate taxis for early morning departure. Loved.

Authentic century old house, yet it has all the modern comforts, extremely comfortable futons, kitchenette with microwave, cutlery, crockery, full toiletries and amenities, heater during winter, the bathroom was great and so were the interior and open air hot tubs. Too many good things to say. All staff correspondence was prompt polite and written in very good English. Tina and the owner was also very welcoming and helpful.

Amazing stay. Booked for one night with a group of 4 after a mate recommended, and had a great time. The vibe of the traditional Japanese house was great, the small garden in the back was very aesthetic, futons were extremely comfortable, and we were invited to partake in a traditional matcha drinking process. Communication with the owners was a breeze, as they spoke perfect English, and reassured us with all our questions.

Kyiosuke was an overall lovely stay. The staff are incredibly kind and accommodating as well as the rooms are large, located in a quiet area, comfortable and equipped with nice utilities!

Gorgeous little traditional garden. Lots of space (but keep in mind you are all sleeping on futons in one room upstairs). Lovely matcha tea ceremony included (and short at 20 mins which is great for small kids). Cool toilets. Large bathroom. Laundry and drying facilities. Air con.

The house is exceptional - preserved wooden building with authentic furniture and tatami floors. There was everything for comfort - two baths, one inside and the other in the garden, a kitchenette, kimono and slippers, books and TV for entertainment, and, most importantly - amazing staff. The young man who met us explained everything and even performed a matcha ceremony.

The staff were great, really nice traditional tea service welcome. The house was beautiful, just as shown in the photos for Hokomachi.
