The front of this hotel was so understated, it was a marvellous surprise when the door slid back to a spacious interior with courtyard and comfortable lounge space/ coffee shop. The room and bed were huge, especially by Japanese standards. Ready and cheap access to a laundry was a bonus. Only about 10 minutes walk from the busy Taramachi-dori area, with plenty of little shops in the side-streets for dinner. Staff were very helpful and spoke English well. 10 minutes walk from the nearest station, or 30 minutes walk from the main Kyoto station.

We had the largest room type with a kitchenette and tub. By Japanese standards it's spacious, especially for two people (the room can hold up to 3 beds). Bed was comfortable and a great shower space. Modern and clean overall, great little gym and social space. Laundry worked well. Somethings were lacking such as no smart TV (luckily I had my own Roku stick), microwave is at the lobby only , cleaning is only every 4 days (garbage can be collected daily). Overall it is very good value, just 6min walk to the main street. Many eateries and convenient stores near by, also a couple of supermarkets.

Rooms spacious and recently renovated. Very friendly staff. Limited room servicing but towels, toiletries available to take as needed. Coin laundry and dryer were super useful and cost-effective.

The standout of the hotel would be their extremely friendly front desk staff. Helpful to a fault. The location is close to every touristy and non touristy place in Kyoto. They had a decent laundry room which was super helpful. They have a good area to store luggage and a comfy seating area. However, their cleaning staff is awful. They have a policy of cleaning the room once in two days. The cleaning staff did not clean the room properly and dropped our clothes on the floor. That would be their only negative in what is a very good place to stay.

I would stay here again and I rarely say that. The reason, is its young staff and their enthusiasm and love in what they do and their drive to improve. I read a negative review prior to coming and I was very surprised to see that they had addressed every issue highlighted. If you're staying for 4 days, they organise the room cleaning halfway through your trip rather than their standard 3rd day. There is a coin machine for the washing machine-dryer in reception - the machines were very clean. Their amenities are perfect and the rooms are really nice and clean. Please keep this up ♡

The room was spacious and clean. I think it is interesting to have an app where you can check in/out, get tips and etc. Great location. I quite like the night light… there is this very gentle light that you can only see after being in the dark for a little while. It helps me because I go to the toilet in the middle of the night and the light guides me. It didn’t disturb my sleep.
