Very clean, held up like a Ryokan. Gives all the feelings of a ryokan. The furniture seems totally authentic. They give you a robe and other toiletries too. The mattress was totally comfortable to sleep on.

Inn Kawashima was a beautiful little Ryokan in Kyoto. It’s an excellent location for basing yourself to explore - close to main attractions or transport options and close to lots of very good little restaurants and bars. The owner was extremely kind and the room was spotless and really an enjoyable experience. The onsen was a nice addition - I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

The personal was really friendly and spoke English. Everything was very comfortable, even in a cold weather it was ok to sleep on futon, there was air conditioning.
