I love this hotel. stayed a week this time and also last time with my husband. The rooms, staff, breakfast and location all great. A few economies have been made but you would not notice them - Japan like many other places is having severe financial difficulties.

There is a bus stop (三十三間堂) right in the front of the hotel, very convenient. They also have Taxi which could be booked at front desk. The bus stops for every 10-20 minutes from both directions, one to Kyoto station and the other to Kyomitsudera(清水寺) and Gion(祇園), good location.

Central, very modern, next to public transports, very comfortable, good service, amazing breakfast - congrats to the chef a very nice guy that came from Namibia. Good room, spacious and amazing bed. Loved the Geisha experience.

Food was fantastic at each restaurant. Room was spacious, and the coffee machine in our room was better than going out for coffee. Location was great as it was close to public transport, and interesting small bars/cafes/restaurants nearby.

Really well designed rooms with a touch of Japanese styling. Staff were amazing. The hotel is really well located for the main areas you would wish to visit and transport east to use and taxis reasonably priced.

Conveniently placed next to one of the most impressive temples in Kyoto (in my opinion). The hotel staff are exceptional - even bowing to you as you leave in a taxi. I would go back in a heartbeat.
