Location just across the bus station and rail was excellent. Many buses to get around Kyoto made travelling easy. Rooms were clean and the staff were very friendly and accommodated my request for a slightly later checkout as I had an unexpected zoom meeting.

The hotel is in a great location once you’ve worked out how to get out of the station ! It’s a bit dated to be honest but the staff are pleasant and it’s right near everything you need for a few nights stay plus the city tour bus is 5 minutes walk away ! Amazing city by the way ! So be prepared for things being a little old fashioned and 1960s vibes but otherwise all good. Breakfasts were not brilliant but there were quite a few options.

Room is nice. Space is good enough for 3 persons. Location is near Kyoto Station and terminal.

The location is excellent, right across the road from Kyoto Station. The only thing to note is that although the bus stop is directly across the street, you have to walk a large loop to reach it. Otherwise, you'll need to use the underground passage, which may not be very elderly-friendly.

The hotel building is quite old and lacks proper soundproofing—you can easily hear toilets flushing and doors closing in adjacent rooms. Communication with staff was frustrating due to their poor English skills. At check-in, we were given a card stating that breakfast vouchers could be exchanged for lunch. However, when I inquired at reception, the staff member initially said it wasn’t possible. Only after I showed him the card did he add, "Only if it is not full." The next day, when we tried to make the exchange, we were told the restaurant was closed—though we later checked and it clearly wasn’t. Hospitality and communication definitely need improvement to make guests feel more welcome. Breakfast offerings were quite limited and could be improved with more variety. On a positive note, the location is excellent—just a short walk from Kyoto Station. The room was decent, but lacked basic amenities like a coffee maker, which are standard in similar hotels. Also, the sink out of the bathroom was unusually low (around 60cm), making it uncomfortable to use.

The good location near the station. The staff is nice and helpful. The room is very cozy and has enough space. The breakfast buffet has variety of food.

Pros: The location is amazing, right above the exit for Porta, can walk directly to Kyoto station through underpass filled with restaurants and shops. Staff were helpful. Room size was great for Japan. Cons: Facilities were a bit dated (shower curtain edges ripped) and the walls/windows were thin..we could hear the construction noises and drilling outside at 12-1am with the windows fully closed - obviously the construction is not the hotels fault but more investment into sound proofing would be good. We could also hear neighbouring rooms sometimes if they were chatting loudly and in the hallway. The ventilator in the bathroom was also broken.

It's an old hotel but clean and well maintained.The WiFi signal was not great and please change at least some thing in Breakfast menu it was exactly the same all 3 days we stayed
