Ideally located just a 10-minute walk from the iconic Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Guesthouse Soi offers various rooms including private Japanese-style rooms and dormitory rooms. Both Kiyomizu Gojo and Shichijo stations for the Keihan Main Line are situated within a 10-minute walk. Free WiFi is available throughout the property.
All rooms at Guesthouse Soi are air-conditioned, and come with free toiletries and towels. Some rooms feature a private bathroom.
While staying at the hostel, guests can rent a bicycle to explore the city or use the coin launderette on site. A shared kitchen is also provided for guests’ convenience.

This room features a Japanese traditional design combined with western modern comfort. It comes with a queen-size bed in the downstairs bedroom and a folding mattress sofa on a Tatami (woven-straw) area. The 3rd adult guest will sleep on a sofa mattress and it accommodates up to 4 guests. If you are 2 guests you can use the Tatami area as a living room. The queen-size bed consists of 2 single beds. Please contact the property directly if you would like to have 2 separate single beds. The bedroom is in the half basement room. A dehumidifier for those sensitive for humidity is installed in the room.

This room features wood flooring, a light and airy corner room. It comes with a queen-size bed and a sofa. The 3rd guest will sleep on a sofa bed. The room size is comfortable for 2 adults. The room can accomodate 3 adults but it can be squeezing if you are with big suitcases.

The breakfast was amazing! So nice to just have a piece of toast and some fruit before going out for the day! Also the beds were much softer than our previous stay in osaka.

We loved the general layout and vibe of this wonderful Guesthouse. Our room was spacious and beds were comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Location was great. Definitely recommend trying the traditional breakfast. We also rented bikes for a day while there and loved riding the streets of Kyoto!

They posted relevant and changing things on a notice board, eg. a light show that was on for winter, a sale on clothing brand, a market. Everything a traveller and tourist might want! Breakfast was so nice, opportunity to have real coffee and fresh fruit and yoghurt. Every touch was great, like there's washing machines and places to hang clothes up on the roof. Always water and tea available to take, and nice areas to socialise and read if you want to, including travel books and novels in English, Japanese, and a few other languages. Our private room with ensuite was modern and clean. Maki our host was amazing, she and Sim seem like really interesting people. By chance realised I had stayed in one of their previous guesthouses in Chengdu, same peaceful and friendly vibes. Great beer and sake bar down the street called the Windmill, he had great music, and local recommendations for food also. Is clearly a guesthouse for made by travellers, for travellers. Best place we stayed out of 6 in Japan.

Brilliant guesthouse in a fantastic area of Kyoto. The breakfast was brilliant and filling, and the bedrooms were spacious, clean with a really comfortable bed. We had great insight from the staff as to where to go/ things to do and the free facilities (coffee/teas/snacks) were a lovely bonus before a day of exploring.
