Ryokan Overview

Kirishimaya Ryokan is located in the Kusatsu Onsen area, with views of the mountain and surrounding nature. Featuring public and hot-spring baths, the Japanese-style accommodation offers a massage service and free parking on site. Free WiFi is available in rooms.

Rustic atmosphere near the town center. Onsen have excellent water, I'd say it's pretty much the same as the big three bath. So if you're not keen on going to the large public bath the onsen here is an excellent alternative. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

Great Japanse style hotel, ryokan. Friendly English speaking staff. Nice Japanese breakfast. Good onsen in the hotel, during autumn especially the one with the smaal outside bath. The bed is amazing!

The property is tucked away in a beautiful spot just a few minutes walk from all the main attractions. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, they made our stay truly great. The breakfast is great also! We were able to relax here, just what we came looking for.

We loved the family run set up and our very informative host. The place is old but very well maintained and clearly with a lot of history. The location is great too - not too far from the center but enough to be quiet. The private Onsen was very cute.

Wonderful stay. Great bathing facilities, lovely staff at a good price. Ryokan ran like clockwork. Lovely breakfast in the morning.

One of my favourite ryokans I’ve ever stayed in! Such a cosy and welcoming atmosphere, lovely rooms and comfortable futon. Loved the private bath we were able to use a few times. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, it really felt like “coming home”. Super glad we booked this as part of our honeymoon and I’ll be staying here again if I return to Kusatsu!
