Central location close to the market square, railway station and airport bus stop. Short walk to the lakeside. Room was clean and well equipped with kettle, coffee maker, fridge and microwave and complimentary tea and coffee. Bed was comfortable and there was enough space for luggage. Ceiling fan helped to keep the room cool during hot weather. Shared toilets and showers were clean and good. Easy check-in and access to the building and the room, good communication with the staff. Wifi worked well. The area was quiet at night. Recommend and would stay again.

The host has an other hostel in Kuopio which better matched our needs, and we were free of charge rebooked to that place (Hostelli Hermanni). The check-in process is very smooth, enables late arrival and worked very nicely even for a last-minute booking. The Hermanni hostel has spacious common areas and well-equipped common kitchen. The coast is very close with a good playground.

Location right outside the station, room was lovely and clean
