One of the best stays we had in Sri Lanka! Let me explain why. First, the host is extremely accommodating, open and a very nice person. He will organise and recommend everything you could imagine for you. Second, the beach, right infront of the place is simply beautiful. Way more beautiful than most other touristic beaches and also only a few tourists. The room is spacious, the breakfast very delicious. Overall we had an amazing experience and will definitely come back!

Room was clean and the host and his mother were very nice, also the traditional food was very very good. Also very familiary. If you want to, you get a little sri lanka- history lesson:) both speak english very well. Tipp if you like it non-touristic: go to the little beach area of the foto below or do a kayak tour on the madampe lake.

I had a wonderful stay at the villa. My room was very spacious (30m2) and clean. I had my private bathroom. I enjoyed the big bed, comfortable matress, and moskito net. I had both fan and AC. The internet speed is fast and I had a table and chair,so it was perfect to work remotely. I had garden view, which was very nice. I had yummy local breakfast and papaya fruit juice from the family. The business owner and family are very friendly and supportive in all needs: wifi/internet connection, laundry service, transportation, everything. I booked a guided tour from the family: it was perfectly organized and included a magical river safari, a temple visit, the tsunami museum, puppet museum, and cinnamon production and fields, and rice fields. We also visited the turtle sanctuary. I also booked an ayurveda consultation from an Ayurveda doctor which was a unique experience. The beach is in 5 minutes walking distance. So, in the morning I went jogging at the beach. In the evening, there are beautiful sunsets, and at night, there are glowworms at the beach. The beach is very beautiful and natural. Clean and not many tourists. There is a big supermarket nearby which is also a big plus. I had unforgettable days. I can truly recommend the stay at Ananda Villa.

I had an amazing stay with Navoda, his mother Shoba and sister Malmi. I booked to stay 2 nights but ended up staying 6 nights as they offered for me to stay and enjoy Sinhalese new year with them, joining in with their local traditions. They treated me like family and nothing was to much trouble for them, if there were any questions or problems you only had to ask. Shoba cooked me homemade breakfast, lunch & dinner every day. I enjoyed things like pancakes, milk rice, string hoppers, Kottu, dahl curry with tea or fresh lemon or papaya juices. Location is perfectly placed a 5 minute walk from the beach and turtle research centres, room has working AC and Navoda showed me round the local area/organised anything I needed from transport to day trips. I highly recommend the Villa and for the price there were no complaints, they really try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I learnt a lot from them as we talked many times, I look forward to coming back and visiting their kind hearted family again in the future :)
