Hi friends I was looking for a good hotel near the usa consulate as I had my visa interview. I happened to come across this hotel on bookings.com and read the earlier reviews which were very good and I happened to get in touch with the owner Ms. Divya who guided me very well about the location, availability of home cooked food and the proximity of Kali Ghat temple etc. I was so impressed and immediately paid a token advance and blocked my room. The directions and travel time from airport to hotel was also clearly explained. I reached the hotel on 30th September at 1.30 pm and I was received with warmth by Mr. Amit the receptionist who told me that the room was ready and also home made lunch had arrived. I was very hungry and the first thing was to eat the yummy lunch which was from the Mother's hands. In fact I got to know that the food was prepared by Divya's mother. Rested for a while and then visited Kali Ghat and had a fantastic darshan of Maatha and it was an experience that I will never forget. For dinner I tried the local street food like hot cutlet and chilka which I relished a lot. These food stalls are right in front of the hotel. Rested well in a clean and spacious room and in the morning I was served traditional poori baaji again made from home and got ready to go for my interview. The room service during the day was well attended to by Mr. Gopal and Mr. Surojit while the night was attended by Mr. Laha, all of them very polite and cooperative. Hot ginger tea was available all the time with filtered drinking water. By Maatha ji's grace I got my visa in a minute and as directed the usa consulate is just about 8/10 mts walking distance from here Indeed a very good and memorable experience in Kolkata being there for the very first time and more importantly I was made to feel at home by all the staff of the hotel.
