“An exceptional Ryokan experience at Arima”
02 Jan 2025
The hospitality was truly exceptional and the rooms were nice and cosy, albeit a tad old fashioned but I guess that's also kind of the point. The Kiseki meals were of course really delicious, and worth every space of our tummies. The onsen facility was very well maintained. The view could be better but otherwise an impeccable place to stay when in Arima. Also, the hotel is right next to the bus station which is so convenient! Would highly recommend to friends and family!

Excellent location. Just next to the bus station. 1 minute walk. Huge room with a bonus of a room with washing machine.

“Recommendable.”

The traditional wooden architecture, the local cuisine for both dinner and lunch, the overall wabi-sabi ambience and the onsen experience are all truly exceptional.

“A historic ryokan hotel for the health conscious.”
04 Dec 2024
Excellent dinner and breakfast. Very good onsen. Recommended for those who enjoy classic Japanese ryokan hotels. Due to the dense development there is not enough privacy and connection with nature that you would expect from the best ryokan hotels in onsen villages.

“Great place to eat outstanding Japanese food. Do not go there for onsen experience.”
01 Dec 2024
I loved the room, spacious with a covered "balcony" with comfy chairs and a little table. Very polite and nice staff. AMAZING food! Eleven days in Japan, and only here we got superior traditional Japanese meals! Dinner is MUST HAVE! Wonderful experience, and the food! Same with breakfast - it is an art!

“Superb”

Included dinner and breakfast were amazing. Yakata included was also so fun. Town was easy to walk around and very accessible from location. Was a very luxury experience that was perfect for 1 night on our honeymoon.

“Great stay at traditional, old ryokan”
14 Nov 2024
Arima Onsen is close to Kobe, but has a nice countryside feel about it. Our room was much larger than expected, the staff were attentive and friendly, and the onsen was very good, with the famous Arima golden water (salty and with high iron content). A nice detail in the onsen was that the gender seperating wall was lower at the end, enabling a conversation with my wife. The food was also very good, we stayed 2 nights and had 1 night dinner and breakfast in our room (for an extra charge). The ryokan also offers a free shuttle to the Arima Ropeway and to the railway station. The salon was also nice with free coffee and lots of books and a high-end tube amplifier. The building is wooden and old, so expect to hear some noise from your neighbours, but nothing too bad.
