We liked the welcome, the welcome drink was a surprise and the team were very friendly. Loved the room and view over the lagoon. Flower petals on the bed and bathroom surfaces made the room smell gorgeous - a lovely touch for a boutique hotel. Sadly the weather was very wet & windy so we couldn’t appreciate the gardens which looked lovely. The team lit a fire in the evening which meant the sitting room was warm and cosy and the other guests were very interesting. It was a very comfortable, spacious bedroom and the bath room was spotless - it was the best shower we had on our trip. The breakfast was a wonderful spread of fruit cereal, yogurts and breads but for us the cooked breakfast choice was really excellent. The hotel felt super safe and we were happy to walk to the harbour in the evening for dinner and we walked back in the dark without any problems. We stayed for 2 nights and probably could have done with an additional night as it was so lovely and plenty to do in the area including elephant sanctuary. The team were the best and it was fascinating hearing the history about the house, family and location. Would definately go back - hopefully next time the sun will come out!

Parkes Manor is a wonderful property with huge gardens and lovely interior. Very stylish decor, comfortable rooms. The gentlemen at the reception were very nice and gave us helpful recommendations on tours and destinations. We had nice chats! Breakfast was excellent. Definitely a perfect place to stay when in Knysna!

This colonial style building and grounds are in a beautiful scenic setting. Comfortable, clean, and welcoming. Fantastic home cooked evening meal by Josephine, the wife had a steak cooked to perfection, and I had the lamb curry. The breakfasts are to die for. The property is close (20 mins) to the wonderful remote, not busy Buffalo beach with an endless sandy beach and shallow clean water. The UrbanGirl cafe/restaurant is superb and is 10 minutes drive away. The Muse cocktail bar is 10 mins walk away and has a lovely garden to enjoy good priced food and drinks.
