Couldn't ask for a better stay on a first trip to Zanzibar. Mama Root is a place where you can fully relax and be taken care of; it really is a home away from home kind of place. Olivia is a wonderful host and together with her team, they take care of every detail. Food was delicious and the blue safari she arranged for us was the highlight of our trip. Mama Root really is a little paradise. The owners are not only extremely nice, but also take excellent care of their guests in an individual way . You always feel welcome. They offer lunch and dinner on request and the food is delicious- everything is freshly bought and prepared. Everywhere you look, you see decorations and furniture that have been creatively designed with natural materials. The location, directly above Kimikazi beach, makes a swimming pool completely unnecessary. Mama Root is run in a very ecological way, drinking water is always available to guests, so no plastic is used. A big plus in a country with a major waste problem. If we come back to Kizimkazi we will come back to Mama Root. 100%. Thanks for everything.

Mama root is super nice and the house and everything was super comfortable and clean The Service, staff and food was great, they even cooked something special to have glutenfree food. Definitely a great place to relax. Would love to come back soon.
