Great location at the beach and good, relaxed atmosphere. Staff was helpful; supporting in organising taxi's, preparing early breakfast before leaving to the airport and extending our stay. Rooms were clean and well organised. We would stay here again!

Clean, freshly updated, fantastic location and yet very private. Beautiful little pool and surprisingly good menu. If your looking for small boutique hotel with heaps of attention this is the place to be.

PoaPoa Bungalows is a dream! Set right on the beach, it offers stunning ocean views and a beautiful garden filled with lush plants, providing plenty of shady spots to relax. The breakfast spot overlooking the sea was a highlight, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. A peaceful, intimate retreat we can’t wait to visit again!

- great location just on the beach and view on the ocean - very clean, cleaning every day - comfortable bed - nice and elegant parties on Thursday with good African music - delicious and full breakfast - free water - owner really cares about the guests - nice and very comfortable sunbeds - possibility of late checkout

This was an amazing surprise! Location, staff, food… the food at the PoaPoa restaurant, OMG! Soooo delicious! I had book a bigger hotel to stay in Kiwengwa but at the end we changed for a smaller and cozy place. Why? It’s prefect to rest peacefully and enjoy the beach.

The hotel is beautifully located, cozy, intimate - for those who like their peace and quiet, not a mass-tourist approach, like many other hotels in Zanzibar. It's definitely a place with a soul and one-of-a-kind. :) Laura, the owner, is very helpful and provided us with a lot of recommendations on what to see and do in Zanzibar. The breakfast in the restaurant was plenty - fresh fruit, local donuts, freshly squeezed juice, great coffee, tea, plus menu a la carte - I recommend avocado toast, also pancakes were delicious, sausages, eggs... You name it. Every day we tried something different :) Generally, the restaurant and food in Poa Poa have always been totally delicious!! We ate lunch and dinner there (accommodation includes just breakfast) because the menu is rich, and they have an excellent chef that we've met, compliments :) As for their food quality and menu, the price is very, very good, cheap even. We've tried other restaurants in Kiwengwa and Poa Poa has been our number one choice. Plus we've always been treated so nicely (great service). Generally, the staff is very nice and helpful, especially waiters. We really enjoyed the live music evening :))) Sadly, we've managed to see just one (but was so much fun! Also special Swahili food, so you could really get the feel of Zanzibar!), but apparently they do live music twice a week (we've been there for just 3 days). You can also get a massage in the hotel, and they offer different kinds. Generally, we've been really happy with the place and would recommend it for people looking for an intimate romantic getaway or a family holiday with great food, location, clean beach, and ocean views. Authentic place!

My stay was fantastic, i liked everything. The rooms are cozy and comfortable with such a view! The whole plot stretches along the most beautiful part of Kiwengwa beach. Entire place is really lovely, small, cozy and quiet. I will be back!

The scenery and design of the area is amazing, very beautiful and very relaxing, beyond what we expected. The beach is just in front of the accommodation and it is very beautiful and clean. The staff are always helpful, always with a smile and the atmosphere is very relaxing. The swimming pool is very nice too, we spent a lot of our time there. The food at the restaurant was very good too, would definitely recommend it.
