I took a weekend away and wanted somewhere close enough to a larger town like Kendal but that was quiet and would give me easy access to some walking routes. It's a five minute walk from Oxenholme Station, which opens up your travel to different parts of the Lakes, so ideal really. The Glen itself is a lovely guesthouse, and Pauline really went out of her way to accommodate me and make me feel welcome on my solo stay. I'd highly recommend to travellers.

The hosts were really friendly and accomodating. Room and facilities were very tidy and up to standards. Easy access to train station and Central of Kendal. Would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Kendal.

Pauline (host) very friendly, was able to give information of the area to help me navigate and move around. Also very accommodating with requests. Staff also friendly at breakfast giving you options of what to have.

Room had everything we needed, plenty of sockets, well stocked drinks tray, recently refurbished bathroom. Breakfast had lots of options and a well cooked Full English. The owners were very friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Friendly atmosphere at breakfast with other guests. Plenty of easy parking. Evening meals available in local pub just over the road.
