The property is special because of its authentic historical value being a heritage property. The hotel is very well maintained and is kept very clean. The staff is excellent, friendly and communicative. There is wonderful pool with a nice pool bar with lovely cappuccino and snacks. Plus I love the well maintained garden with lots of flowers! An oasis in the centre of Kathmandu!

Like: Staff are very accommodating and always willing to help. Front yard of the hotel is really relaxing and beautiful setting with ancient palace feel. Recent renovations have given the hotel a good facelift. Dislike: Fitness centre is little run down and needs some more equipment. Only 3 cardio machines available for use.

Gorgeous former place to stay in, set back from the road with quiet, lovely grounds and nice pool. Interesting carvings and artwork inside and beautifully painted and decorated. Great service and good breakfast with choice of various hot options. Very helpful staff. A 15- 20 minute walk from the noise and bustle of Thamel. A real treat to stay here.

Nice room, comfortable bed, cot provided for our 3 year old for free. Garden area was nice to play in. Buffet breakfast was quite good, with a selection of both western and Nepali dishes, plus a "cooked to order" egg station. Instant hot showers a real treat in Nepal.

The hotel is set back from the busy streets, so very calm. The history and heritage makes this place very special with all the original features and details. The rooms are clean. There were a lot of breakfast options. The restaurant had tasty (not too spicy food). The staff were very friendly. The bedrooms had many light settings and two pillow sizes. The beds were king or super king, so quite large. The staff were very friendly and attentive.
