They have a kitchen where you can prepare some basic stuff. There's a nice covered area with hammocks and bean bags. Hostel organises family's dinner every Monday and friday. It's about 15-20 min walk to downtown GL where most restaurants are, but there are other (more expensive) options of restaurants within 5min walk and also plenty of small grocery shops. Staff kindly organised a van to drop me at dapa port for 300 pesos. They have generators in case the power goes off. Wifi is good.

The hostel is on a nice quiet back street, with multiple levels of terraces to hang out on. The dorms only have a fan, but for my stay on the ground floor this was sufficient. The lockers under the bunk beds were very deep, loads of space to store things. The bunk beds each have curtains, light, and power outlet - much appreciated!

I had an incredible experience staying at Hostel Bigg Tree. The hostel is not only clean and comfortable but also offers a great atmosphere for travelers. The staff were absolutely fantastic—friendly, helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a pleasant stay. From giving local tips to making sure everything was perfect, their hospitality really stood out. The location is also convenient, with easy access to key spots in the city. I highly recommend Hostel Bigg Tree to anyone looking for a welcoming, budget-friendly place to stay. Can’t wait to visit again!

Nice and calm location. The dorm rooms are very clean with big storage lockers for all your belongings and curtains on beds for privacy, there's also a reading lamp and an electrical plug. Well working WiFi on each of the floors as on the rooftop. The rooftop area is wonderful with a little bar restaurant place and two more roofs "floors" with chill-out sitting areas, hammock, part is under the roof to shield you from rain, very nice place to relax. The owners and receptionists are great people, always smiling and saying hello, they can also help you give tips if you need to get bus tickets, etc. Overall a great place, would definitely recommend it.

The location of the hotel is easy to find and there are many shops nearby, so it will be very convenient for traveling. The accommodation was very nice and clean, and the beds were comfortable, hot water and wifi were good, and environment is very quiet,the dog is adorable too.The staff is very friendly, kind and enthusiastic, every time I talk to him, his eyes are always filled with a friendly and clear light and a warm smile. He always help you as soon as possible.The breakfast in the hotel was also very good. I was very grateful to the staff for making it for me. I really liked it. They also offer the best travel-related services, such as paragliding. The staff was very humorous and helpful. He took me back to Kathmandu with him and we had a great time along the way. I am very lucky and satisfied to have chosen this hotel.

Big Tree Hostel in west side of Thamel is perfect for budget travelers and located in the bustling heart and peaceful side of the city, it offers clean, comfortable rooms and dorms at an affordable price in compare to other hostel nearby. The hostel provides essential amenities like free Wi-Fi,water and cozy common areas.The friendly staff are always ready to help with travel tips and recommendations. The welcoming atmosphere makes it easy to connect with fellow travelers. For an affordable, convenient, and friendly place to stay in Kathmandu, Big Tree Hostel is an excellent choice. And You always feel so secured with your stuff and baggage as you got convenient space for locker. You also get breakfast on bookings.

The room has enough space for all the things and also has a locker for every guest. I like the rooftop that is also seperated a chill area with roof and without. There is also an area with a little bar which could be nice in the evening.
