The fine print
For free pick-up at Shinano-Oiwake Train Station, call before boarding the train and inform the property of your arrival time.The property has a curfew at 23:00. Guests cannot enter or leave the property after this time.To eat breakfast or dinner at the property, a reservation must be made at least 1 day in advance.
All meals must be reserved. Dinner is served at 18:30. Breakfast is served at 07:30, 08:00 and 08:30.The shared bath is available between 15:00 and 09:00.The number of guests being accommodated per room cannot be changed at the time of check-in.

Oh my god, where to start? This place is FANTASTIC! We arrived in off season at what I think is a ski lodge, but Karuizawa is a fantastic place to visit in summer. The building is so cute and the rooms are lovely, the setting is fantastic, and the owner, Suzuki (I hope I got your name right!) is lovely. She offered to take us up and down from the nearby station if we needed (although it's also possible to walk), and went to great pains to make our stay as comfortable as it could be. They even have a cute cat!

Beautiful Area and such a lovely host. It was about a 30 minute walk from the train station uphill (So beware if you have luggage with you!) It's such a beautiful house, it's quaint and felt comfortable to stay in. Two spaces with locks for traditional showers, baths and it seems there were space heaters for the colder months. There were plenty of toilets and one in our room as well, sinks with soaps and towels. The host provided toothbrushes if needed, has a microwave and mini fridge for guests to use upstairs near the sinks, and a kettle for hot water/tea/coffee. There is a fan mounted to the wall in our room which was very nice and we could open the windows for cool fresh air. Definitely a great place to stay. There's cafes super close, two combini about a 15 minute walk away, and a place to the left of the 7-11 had such good food at fair prices.
