Due to travel restrictions I needed to change the booking, which was painful to deal with. Not so much Kapama's fault but booking.com response times. Marieke dealt with this very well overall. Airport pick up and drop off service was perfect. We did not have to wait. Welcome and briefing by our ranger, Ian, was good and informative. The villa is indeed a villa. Bigger than most people's homes in SA. Definitely on par with other establishment of this calibre and I loved that the water closet (toilet) was separate. So many places get this wrong in their room design. Also, the pool was heated enough to take a dip. Big shower and even bigger bath, both of which we used. Turn down service was good, but some consumables were not replenished. Room was cleaned twice a day, and heated at night which was awesome. Wifi was very good. Note, no television in rooms. Not an issue for us as we dont watch much TV. Food was excellent overall, with menus changing daily. You can also just ask for what you want ahead of time and they will arrange. I also got a birthday cake, as did many others, which was a special touch. Mini bar in rooms as well as Nespresso machine. Very extensive included wine and alcohol list at the bar. The best I've experienced thus far and also lovely to see the support for local gins. Champagne and some rare vintages of wine costs extra, but there are good MCC options to be had. We did a spa treatment and it was amazing! Goodness did my massage and she was easily the best masseuse I've ever had at a game lodge, and in my top 3 overall ever! Considering my physio is number 1, this is high praise! Also, the treatment suites are spectacular and private, with your own en suite bathroom. No sharing of facilities for treatments. Really great!! Deserves 6 stars! Finally, our ranger Ian and tracker Collen were phenomenal. We had some spectacular sightings and they tracked most of them. We were also alone for most of our drives.

Exceptional service in an exceptional location. once you’ve done a safari in a private reserve you will never look back, and this is the best lodge in the best reserve. Made to feel very special, all the staff knew our names from the moment we arrived. Game drives all stunning, good fabulous and nothing was too much trouble. already plotting our return, and this time we will bring friends and family to share it with. Justice and Elvis were the best of hosts on the game drives.
