Shaq is a super nice guy. He’s made sure to keep the facility clean and comfortable for visitors. The place is located right in the centre of Kanazawa, and a 10 min walk from the station. If i visit Kanazawa again, i will definitely go stay at Shaqs!

“Amazing service in homey hostel”

Amazing service and good vibes in the hostel, a huge recommendation! We got a lot of help from the owners with booking the bus for day trips and other recommendations. Also, we couldn’t come on the day we booked because the trains were canceled and they just changed the days without charging for anything. The hostel has a nice bar downstairs with cheap draft beer and other snacks, perfect for staying in. Don’t worry about any sounds from the bar tho because you can’t hear anything in the rooms. The beds are comfortable and the AC works perfectly which was very welcome in the summer heat. The shower and other bathroom facilities were very clean and shampoo, soap & conditioner was provided. There were also lockers for valuable things. The hosts were incredibly welcoming to us so we hope they will be able to welcome a lot of other people from all over the world. You will definitely have a good stay here!

The host, Shaq, is extremely nice and super helpful in case you need any tips on what to do or help booking tickets. He lived in the US for a while and hence speaks excellent English. We had a great stay.
