One of our favourite stays in Japan! Beautiful house and room. The host family was so kind, friendly and helpful in recommending dinner and helping make reservations, and suggesting sites around Kanazawa.

My friend and I were thoroughly impressed by this ryokan run by Bungo and his mother. It was a traditional building and the rooms were in traditional style, but the facilities were up-to-date and always clean. With Bungo's recommendation of cafe and restaurants, given through a google map list, we had a great time in Kanazawa.

Ryokan Yamamuro is a traditional Japanese inn run by a mother and her son Bungo. The place is incredible; the rooms are clean and beautiful, it’s perfectly situated, and the hosts are kind beyond belief. Bungo took his time explain Kanazawa, and recommend activities based on what I liked. For the facilities, the onsen of the Ryokan is also wonderful, and the futon bed is comfortable. I cannot recommend this place enough for travelers, it’s definitely a must if you plan on exploring Kanazawa.

The room was very spacious, comfortable and impeccably clean. Bungo the manager/owner was very helpful explaining the hotel and Kanazawa. He even made dinner reservations for us at a very nice tempura restaurant

What we loved the most was the kindness and hospitaly of the family that owns the Ryokan. They were so welcoming and nice! In each roomed they offered the guests delicious green tea. They also took the time to give us a lot of great tips and helped us make a reservation for the ninja temple! I highly recommend staying there if you are lucky enough to find a room ;)

A long-standing, family-run ryokan now managed by the fifth generation. Our room had lovely traditional features and was well-kept, even after recent earthquakes. The staff were friendly and really helpful, sorting out our ticket bookings and restaurant reservations. All their recommendations were great! The ryokan is also in a convenient spot for exploring Kanazawa’s sights.

The room was very spacious. We had our own toilet and shower, which was great. Staff were lovely and kind, happy to provide help and information on Kanazawa's restaurants and attractions. They have umbrellas you could bowwor in case of rain, which came very handy. Tea and biscuits were provided, as well as coffee, fridge and an eating area in the common space. It's also perfectly located in a quiet street, but very close to restaurants, the market and Kanazawa castle grounds with the famous garden. Overall, we loved the place.

Bungo our host did a fantastic job and was very helpful. Our room but also the whole Ryokan was very clean. The location is great, you can explore the city easy on foot. We highly recommend this Ryokan!
