Very beautiful and cozy traditional house with quiet garden. Host was so kind and attentive, moreover, she booked bus for me in advance. Highly recommend this stay!

We stayed at this typical two stories house for two nights. The room was spacious and the futon was really comfortable. The hostess was really kind and helpful, she was really kind and professional. The communal space downstairs was beautiful and you can relax and drink tea.

The room we had in this lovely 100 year old building was beautiful. Large with extremely comfortable Japanese beds. The hosts were extremely helpful and went out of their way to ensure we had a good stay. There was a small kitchen to prepare hot drinks or microwave food. Everywhere was very clean and well kitted out. We have stayed in several Ryokan recently. This was undoubtedly the best!

Everything about this place was perfect. The attention to detail put into this place is incredible, from the common room to the bathroom, to the bedroom. The location of this accommodation was also very handy, being a very close walk from the Sakurabashi bus stop of the Kanazawa Loop Bus. We wish we could have stayed for longer. Would highly recommend.

In a very quite neighbourhood, easy access to both convenience stores and City Center. We had a very friendly host from whom you can learn more about the history of the building and traditional Japanese style indoors.

The accomodation in the old Machiya guest house was amazing. The traditional house worth the stay in Kanazawa. It is close to the garden and castle as well as bus stops. The owner was very nice and helpful. I would love to come again, if I ever have a chance.

We loved our stay at Machiya! The area was great and full of young design and kraft shops, cool restaurants and breakfast places. Very clean! Everything was taken care for to the smallest detail. Small kitchen lets you be independent. The owner is so friendly, we couldn’t enjoy our stay more.
