We enjoyed our day at K’s house. We are a couple travelling with three kids aged 8, 10, 12. We stayed in a room with capsule beds and the kids thought it was great! It was spacious and comfortable enough, very clean, and a good central location. We appreciated the safe and relaxed environment - our kids could move around and explore / head to bathrooms and between the kitchen and our room independently.

We had a good experience overall and stayed 8 nights which is probably longer than most. Nice neighborhood: lots of small stores on Tatemachi Decent location: 100m from the river, 15mn walk from the gardens and castle. A little further anway from the JR station, but there's city busses and bus loop nearby. Good facilities overall (kitchen with equipment, clean showers...)

Really nice and clean hostel with very friendly staff. It's also aesthetically pleasing. Bed was very comfortable and shower facilities etc very clean even though it was shared. The only small downside is very very thin walls but thankfully everyone went to sleep early so we didn't get bothered.

Bed space was comfortable and large enough for two people. Rooms were warm and common areas were large. Great kitchen with everything you could need. Lockers in room to lock up valuables. Location is great, about a 10 minute walk to popular food street and sights. Bus from the station was easy. Highlight of our stay was the staff! The two ladies at the front desk helped us with restaurant suggestions and happily made a few calls to make dinner reservations for us! Thank you very much!

Unlike most hostels in Japan, this one had a large common room and sufficient kitchen space. The beds were extremely comfortable and the location was unbeatable - quiet but very close to everywhere you would want to go. The bus to and from the train station (on which luggage is allowed) is literally around the corner from the hostel. One of the best hostels in Japan.

Great stay, but a bit away from bus stations, so it was a bit inconvenient in the snowy weather. However, only 15 min walk to the castle and 21 century museum! Also the staff is super friendly.
