very friendly and helpful host, we got a local breakfast on request, very charming little bungalows with a terrace and nice garden, very good and fresh food, not far from a long beach, no a lot of tourists, calm and quiet, comfortable bed with a mosquito net

Sandy Kites has been an amazing experience. Prassanna and his family are unbelievably kind, considerate, and always up for a chat. The rooms are cosy and comfortable & the food - cooked by Prassanas farther in law - is delicious. He has connections throughout the local village and is always trying to give back and boost the local economy. We can't wait to stay again.

Lovely family and beyond helpful in everything. The evening meal is great - note there is no where else close to go too. The large space for all guests is a great meeting place. I would recommend staying here and with their planned improvements coming - coffee machine, more food etc will be even better. I wish them great success

Sandy edge is nicely located near the beaches in Kalpitya. The host is friendly, the food is good and the bungalows are clean.

Very nice huts. When I was there it was raining a lot, so spent a bit more time at the room than intended :) But all was nice and cosy.

Owner and staff was very kind end helpful. Houses were fresh and clean, beds with mosquito nets. It was nice and comfortable to stay there. 5/5 breakfast was very tasty and there was gluten free option for me:) highly recommend this place

Our experience with breakfast, the beach, and dinner was truly enjoyable! –The breakfast was a perfect start to the day, offering a delicious variety of fresh and flavorful options. perfectly cooked, everything was simply delightful. The coffee added a refreshing touch to the meal. Spending time at the beach was equally wonderful. our dinner was nothing short of amazing. The food was rich in flavor, beautifully presented, and made with fresh ingredients. Whether it was the perfectly grilled seafood, the flavorful local dishes, or the indulgent desserts, every bite was a treat. The ambiance made it even more special, creating the perfect setting for a memorable evening.To end the day,

The owner and other staff are all very friendly, helpful and hard working, keeping the rooms and grounds in great shape. Passana speaks English very well and is a lovely guy to have a chat with. The meals (breakfast and dinner on set menu basis) were well cooked and presented, tasty, and good value. There are plans to increase the amount of rooms and restaurant offering in the future. The location is great for the beach, the lagoon and for kite-surfing of course. It's about a 20 minute ride into Kalpitiya for shops, but also plenty of kiosk-shops in walking distance for snacks, soft drinks etc. Also cafes and restaurants in walking distance. Overall it's a great spot, with loads of potential too!
