The location is decently good, it is close to downtown but you might still need a vehicle if you plan to go out at night. And the parking is very expensive in Kona. The property has really good swimming pool and amazing sunset view. There are couple of small beaches close by, but lot of people were staying on these beaches. There is parking available at the property.

Close to Kileau-Kona, walking distance to a popular Luau, easy to explore the coast. Decent size pool and not many rooms so not many guests to fight for deck chairs. Staff very friendly and helpful. We sat a pod of dolphins from the pool area!

We stayed at the Kona Tiki Hotel for four nights in September 2024. We really liked our room on the top floor with a small balcony and a fantastic sea view. The room was large, the beds comfortable and there was a small kitchen with a kettle, coffee maker, toaster, electric frying pan, sink, microwave and a fridge. This was completely sufficient for preparing a small breakfast. When you book the hotel, you know that there is no TV and no air conditioning. That's why I don't understand the 'complaints' that you can read in some places. We didn't miss the TV because we enjoyed the surf and the sunsets by the pool. We didn't need air conditioning in September either. The nice ceiling fan and an additional standing fan (which we didn't even need) were completely sufficient. The management and staff were very nice and always available for recommendations. We would stay here again.

The hotel may not have lots of facilities but it is clean, rooms are nice and has a beautiful location with exceptional sunsets.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Beautiful ocean view and sunset view. Very clean room with comfortable bedding and lots of towels. Easy swim towel exchange system (simply put used towel on a stool outside your door and it is exchanged). Easy and clear room access instructions provided.

The Kona Tiki is in a great location. It is literally right on the water because there is no beach. This was a good thing. You can hear the surf pounding against the rocks, and we were mesmerized for hours watching the wave roll in from our balcony. The pool is right next to the ocean, separated by a sea wall that was occasionally over-topped by a bit of wave spray. The hotel is older (no elevator) but the rooms have been updated and are quite modern. Finally, it is right on the main road, but road noise is minimal because of the roar of the beach. A reasonable 15 minute (3/4 mile) walk gets you into downtown Kona restaurants and waterfront. We will stay here again.

Great location, easy walk into town, beach front was amazing, listening to the waves at night and watching fish in the ocean from the balcony. V comfortable bed.
