Nice location to the station, good for a short one.night sleepover. It's a bit crowded hostel, bedding and environment is simple but enough. It seems that it has some long-term residents here, so the place could be a bit messy.

I spent a Saturday night at Little Asia in December 2024. I liked the location - it was a four minute walk from the Kagoshima Chuo train station, the largest transportation hub in Kagoshima with bus, local train, shinkansen, and city tram/street car access. There are plenty of places to eat and shop at the Chuo train station and a Vietnamese and a tonkatsu restaurant about a minute walk away from the hostel. I liked the well stocked kitchen that has a two-burner stove, a microwave, a rice cooker, a large refrigerator, and plenty of utensils, silverware, pots and pans, and dishes. The toilets and sinks are modern; they have washlets. The washers/dryers are free to use. I didn't try the showers, but they were used by others. The staff was friendly at check-in. There are bicycles for guests to use. The beds in the male dorm room wear made of wood and were substantial, not feeling like the person in the top bunk would fall in on you in the middle of the night. The stairs to the top bunks were wide and substantial. It was cold outside and the heaters were on, keeping the sleeping area warm throughout the night. There are lockers for small knapsacks for each bed. The price was right at 1800 a night if booked early. There are both male and female dorm rooms as well as family rooms.

The location is very good, only a few minutes from Chuo station. The toilet was very clean. The staff is friendly and you can leave your bags in the common room before checkin or after checkout. It was very cheap too!

Cheapest accommodation I found, and it fit my needs for a nice place to stay with sufficient facilities. The bed was comfortable and the staff offered a locker to put my belongings in too. I could put my bags down before check-in timing, which also helped in my travelling!

this place could not be closer to the station. Which is great cuz it was raining cats and dogs. The check in/out was easy peasy, and my room was , as I asked for, since I don't walk well, close to the bathroom, and on the bottom floor. The kitchen had the complete package of toaster oven/microwave/stove with big refridgerator/freezer, which I love cuz I need to cook my own food. ( can you say fussy traveller? ) Everything was clean and they had extras like bicycles and a washing machine. There was no way I was going to be comfortable on just the one thin futon, so the staff gave me a 2nd one to add, and I slept like a baby. lovely air conditioner. shower was nice and hot with great water pressure. Filtered tap water. 2 laptops for customers to use, and the ferry schedules, and other needed info . were posted clearly.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean. It's very close to the highway bus station/mall which makes it practical (but if you're only here to take the ferry to yakushima you will have a bit of a walk, about 40min to the port)

Very nice and convenient place to stay in Kagoshima. Great kitchen to cook with all the necessary things. Pretty clean. Nice area for eating and relaxing. Very friendly and helpful host!
