The hotel grounds are beautiful, with a lovely, lush garden in between the stone buildings of the estate. Ample free parking was available on site. The service was superb, all staff were helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was rich and tasty, and there was a selection of vegan items available upon request. Complimentary beverages and water bottles were stocked daily in the room, and having a Nespresso coffee machine complete with capsules in the room was lovely. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the approaching Christmas holiday and the festive atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We enjoyed drinks at the bar, which is comfortable and cozy, lovely for relaxing after a day of exploring the city.

Enchanted by the character of the property. It was a welcome respite after touring all day. Felt the history of the property and enjoyed the tranquility and gardens.

The place is gorgeous. The bistro on the first floor is great, and the bar is also pretty nice. The entire place is full of character. We will come back for sure.

It is a beautiful historic building. Rooms are old fashioned but full of charm. I strongly hope that they won’t refurbish them, as this accounts for most of the hotel charm. Breakfast is excellent. The staff is lovely. It’s quiet and well insulated. The garden is amazing.

Full of charm and character, lovely rooms, plus friendly, obliging staff. A calm, relaxing retreat, with iconic attractions close at hand. Adored browsing bookshop and soaking up atmosphere. Can't wait to return.
