Blue Oyster exceeded all my expectations! The food was excellent, with both dinner and breakfast offering a variety of flavorful options. The lunch served outside on the BBQ was a highlight—fresh, delicious, and perfect for the beachfront setting. The service was exceptional, with friendly staff making sure every need was met. We stayed in a sea view room, which was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. Waking up to the sight of the ocean every morning was a dream! Highly recommend!

This place is SO much better than a resort. Perfectly positioned, amazing views, lovely staff and fairly priced. One of my favourite all time hotels.

Extremely friendly staff. This is a small hotel with no swimming pool but it has all other facilities one would like to have. The rooms are very large and have very comfortable beds.

The hotel operates exactly how it is described on its website. I do appreciate "quiet luxury" which can be experienced by a good quality of textiles, large availability of sunbeds, cleanliness, unobtrusive and helpful hotel staff. The focus on sustainability is what caught my attention and I really appreciated it during my stay. The hotel helps you to organize trips around the island and the local boat is available for sailing and snorkeling close to the hotel (at additional cost). Within walking distance you can reach several kite spots. Breakfast is rich, served buffet style. During daytime you can use the beach bar - very convenient, accessible in your swim suit, and in the evening the restaurant opens at the first floor of the main building (where the breakfast is served). I really enjoyed the view while eating. The hotel is located at the beach, but at the same time in the center of Jambiani town. Therefore you can easily experience the local life or stay at the quiet hotel area if that is your choice. The changing tides allow you to experience both the wide beach and the water reaching right up to the hotel, covering the entire beach. Hotel offers the sea shoes for 1 USD a day to protect your feet against sea urchins which are very common there. The lack of swimming pool is not a problem at all in my opinion. I occupied double room which was very spacious and sufficiently equipped.

Staff are all lovely people, the breakfast was amazing, the location is beautiful and practical, the restaurant and chef absolutely phenomenal. Great choice, creative, good prices, huge portions... the room was spacious, how with pressure (quite rare on the island). Beach is perfect for swimming during high tide (at least once a day). We stayed at 5 different hotels on the island, this was the best, no question.

After a 21-day tour from Cape Town to Victoria Falls and a few days of intense sightseeing in Johannesburg, Dar es Salaam and Stone Town, Jambiani was meant to be a much needed R&R treat. Totally surpassed our expectations! The place is gorgeous, with lush landscaping and a beautiful white sand oceanfront with the tide rolling in morning and night and then receding well out. Swimming is safe at high tide. The facilities are very nice: the cabanas, the beach bar, the second floor restaurant, where the food is very good and breakfast is included. It's busy, but low key. Our second floor room was very large with a balcony and exceptionally clean, the water was hot and the staff couldn't have been more helpful!
