Mollydub “Charming and friendly small hotel in a great location”

This charming small hotel has lots of character and a level of service you normally only find in much more expensive hotels. All of the staff were very friendly, welcoming, attentive and helpful, and are great ambassadors for their hotel and their city. We were first-time visitors to Istanbul and the location of the hotel was ideal - in a quiet cul de sac surrounded by bustling narrow cobbled streets full of cafes, restaurants, shops and small supermarkets - and just a few minutes' walk from Aya Sofia, the Blue Mosque, the Topkapi Palace and the Sultanamet tram stop. Our room on the third floor was a good size with a sea view and a French balcony. Spotlessly clean, the room was decorated in creams. browns and golds and had a large firm bed with plenty of pillows which was very comfortable so we slept well. Facilities included a small fridge, a safe, and a kettle with tea/coffee supplies. The bathroom was compact but was fine for our needs and had a good shower and plenty of soft white towels which were changed every day during our stay. The aircon worked very well and was welcome, particularly at night, as we were lucky enough to have warm sunny weather throughout our stay. Breakfast was delicious with a wide range of hot and cold, sweet and savoury options which included a number of Turkish specialisties as well as good coffee (we loved the fresh strawberries every morning), served in a light and airy dining room with a small patio (we opted for the sunny patio every morning). The hotel has a panoramic rooftop terrace with a 360 degree view of the city which was a perfect spot for a late afternoon coffee or enjoying a nightcap of some delicious Turkish wine. We fell in love with Istanbul and plan to return next year, and would be very happy to come back to the Saba Sultan Hotel when we do.

The location was amazing, walking distance to all the historical sites. Our bed was comfortable and we woke up every morning to a lovely sunrise over the Bosporus!

The hotel is in a great location near to places of interest and public transport (tram/boats). It was very clean and good sized rooms with all the necessary facilities. Breakfast was lovely and just what you needed before a day of exploring this fabulous city.
