The hotel is great for its money. It is located off the main streets but at the center of Galata. The room was very spacious with loft-ish ambiance and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and nice.

The location was perfect - a quiet little street 5min walk away from Galata Tower and Istiklal street. The room was clean and warm and our hosts were super friendly and accommodating and helped us with tips and everything else that we needed.

Historic Galata is a very atmospheric hotel situated in a friendly and lively neighbourhood (a place where people live, not just a place for tourists). We were impressed by the warm welcome by the two brothers who take care of the place. They are keen to help you and make your stay nice and comfortable. We haven't been at Historic Galata for a couple of years and we are glad to see that it is still a well maintained, nicely decorated and friendly place.

The location is great, close to centre, tram stop and restaurants. Staff very friendly and always willing to help. Beds very comfortable. Overall it was just ok, but would not return.

For the price we paid, I'd have to say the hotel was exceptional. Our room was an old style, self contained room with an authentic Turkish feel to it. Really good value in a great location, particularly if you're interested in the old town, but it's also close to the tram for access to other areas. Friendly, helpful hosts who are interested in making sure we had all we needed. Our room was clean and relatively large and the bathroom was good. There is a kitchen sink and some limited cutlery and crockery, which was an added bonus. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay here.
